Since 14 years ago, Lotus has introduced a light agile car with a carrying capacity of two passengers, and placing the machine between the cab and rear axle (mid-engine). One of them is the Lotus Elise SC. As a high-performance sports car, Elise SC has several changes in its body design. And Lotus also made other changes in this new sports car output.
Elise SC equipped with mechanical engine supercharged 2ZZ-GE produced by Toyota with variable technology of valve timing and lift-intelligent (VVTL-i). This supercharged engine able to electronically controlling the load time of the air-valve caps, to distinguish the air flow intake airflow as needed. Fuel valve setting was done similarly so that the efficiency is reached.
The first impression when we see this car is its sporty sense. It looks like a racing car with remained the character and style. Discussing of performance, the engine is also used in some variants of Toyota Corolla with a 217 hp at 8000 rpm and torque of 210 Nm at 5000 rpm. With an empty weight of 870 kg and 6-speed manual transmission, Elise SC is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
When we feel the starting acceleration by doing a kick-down, our impression about Elise is absolutely responsive. A sports car jolt is very responsive and we are quite satisfied with what lies behind this car bonnet. Roaring sound in a supercharged engine shows that this car has the potential to “devour” the street with its rear-wheel drive.
