It seems that Ford is still have a few surprises like launch the sporty 2012 Ford Focus ST early next year as prototypes for the car are still being put through their paces all around the globe
Ford is testing thoroughly the new Focus ST which will come with a 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine delivering around 250 PS (184 kW / 246 bhp). To go along with all that power will be an eye-catching paint job, ground-hugging suspension, big wheels and tires and dual exhaust tips mounted in the center of the car’s bumper.
The design of the latest Focus has been a truly global effort, with engineering taking place in Europe, the U.S. and even as far as Australia. As for the Focus ST, Ford’s Team RS and SVT performance engineering divisions are putting prototypes through a punishing testing regime to hone performance and driving dynamics. Team RS and SVT units put a fleet of around 60 pre-production prototypes through a final round of development that will fine-tune the car’s driving characteristics.
Unlike another automaker, Ford is willing to put out its own spy shots of a pre-production car since Ford is very eager to make sure the Focus ST scores in the marketplace, particularly in its resurgent domestic market where overall sales have been boosted by the success of the Fiesta model.
